Melaion – Cretan Honey with Extra Virgin Olive Oil Balls P.D.O. Sitia

Pine thyme honey PDO Crete & Extra Virgin Olive Oil
PDO Sitias with the method of spheronization.

The use of honey with olive oil for breakfast is a practice that dates back to antiquity on the island of Crete. The Savidakis Family has revived this exceptional tradition with the highest quality standards and has combined honey with olive oil balls, offering value that goes beyond taste. The idea starts years ago when the grandmother, wanting to offer the healthiest breakfast, prepared bread with pure olive oil and honey. The honey in the family is produced by its own beehives that it has maintained for four generations in the province of Sitia. The oil in the family is produced from privately owned olive trees and is characterized as extra virgin olive oil PDO. Sitia. The technique of spheronization came to give an extra touch to the journey they started in molecular gastronomy. The resulting spheres they created have a thin film and contain extra virgin olive oil PDO. Sitia. They placed the olive oil balls in the unique Sitia honey and Me the Melaion δημιουργή was created. When you taste a teaspoon of honey and olive oil balls by making a slight pressure of the tongue on the ball, it makes it burst and release an amazing taste explosion. Also, spreading on the bread, the balls pop and are homogenized with honey. A result that fascinates the taste!

Serving suggestion: Give the aroma of Cretan nature to breakfast, yogurt, sweets, cheese plate and salads
